Roles sought:

Lead Full-stack Developer or Senior Software Engineer

Work alongside the CEO & CTO to shape Polaron, ranging from the backend simulation to the front-end interfaces. We’re on the hunt for a candidate who’s poised to evolve into our head of engineering over time.

Polaron presents an intriguing product landscape, and we’re keen to onboard a stellar developer to collaborate with our technical founder. This collaboration will further help in broadening the horizons of our development team. Our focus lies in the backend, systems integrations, and connections into our tool and beyond. If you possess experience in C, Simulation, Ai, ML, or GPU-based computation, that’s a plus, but we’re open to ideas and molding the role around your skills and passions. There’s always a plethora of tasks at hand, from linking web and backend services, conceiving new APIs and interfaces, to revamping a component for heightened efficiency or security.

This role calls for an individual ready to dive deep and carve out clear plans and architectures, and someone adept at translating business needs into software. We appreciate composure, so a calm demeanor and clarity in thinking are essential.

If you’re someone who relishes working primarily remotely and harbors an enthusiasm for startup culture and the usual blend of equity and salary as compensation, this might be your spot. Urban Hawk has been around, but our primary attention now is Polaron as we transition to product-centricity. So, experience in crafting CI and Product pipelines, along with GIS and Spatial data knowledge, is an advantage.

We need someone comfortable working independently but ready to transition into a management or leadership role, and capable of mentoring the next team member. We anticipate securing investment in the next year, so this leadership shift might be closer than you think.

  • Part-time to/or Full-time
  • Participation in the earn-in scheme
  • Unlimited leave (please be reasonable)
  • Preferably based in Bristol but remote work is acceptable (preferably within the UK)
  • High-spec hardware provided (i9 / 3090ti)
  • Salary: Approximately £40-60k PA, depending on experience

Desirable Skills

This list encompasses a wide array of skills, and it’s likely more comprehensive than required. The bottom line? If you possess even a handful of these skills, combined with a proven track record of learning and problem-solving, we’re eager to connect. For instance, if you’re deeply passionate about Ai or Cellular Automatons, we can certainly craft a role for you. The specific role might vary, but our goal remains consistent: to shape a position tailored to the right individual.
